Former “Suits” actress and humanitarian Meghan Markle is one of the newest additions to the royal family. It would be an understatement to say that she’s beautiful, she’s more than gorgeous both inside and out. Obviously, genetics has favored her side, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have tricks on her own to make her even look her best. For sure, a lot of her avid fans who have followed her since she played Rachel in the hit USA legal-drama series to dating Prince Harry, to finally leaving her home country to wed with the love of her life have seen how she remained stunning.
People’s Obsession with Meghan Markle
Since being linked with one member of the royal family, the world has been onto her, grabbing every chance of getting to know her. From her fitness routines, diets, the beauty products she uses, and even how she deals with jet lags, everything has been bared in the past years. Previous interviews surfaced, informing people of what Markle’s preferences are. In a way, it gave her supporters a little reason to celebrate because at least, they know more about the beautiful lady who captured Prince Harry’s heart.
As you’ve probably noticed by now and even before her name was tied up with the royals, she had always been spotted with little to no makeup, especially when she’s just out doing errands. Today, we always see her in public appearances wearing a “barely there” look, which suits her and seemingly says just how simplistic she really is. But beyond the cosmetics is a great foundation -- already sculpted facial features. Although genetics basically play a huge role, Markle revealed that there’s something you can do to achieve her look.
Meghan Markle’s Secret to a Sculpted Face
Markle has one of the most toned faces you can observe from big personalities and that’s thanks to facial exercises, which she revealed in 2014 in an interview with Birchbox. She’ll make you believe in the power of the facial workout any day. Apparently, she partnered with one of the most renowned aestheticians, Nichola Joss, in doing facial massage techniques for a chiseled visage.
The 37-year-old then swore that these things work and even wrote about it in her now-defunct blog “The Tig.” At one point, she said that on days that she does these facial exercises, her cheekbones and jawline become more prominent.
Joss offers free facial tips and exercises on Instagram for those interested but don’t have $330 to spend for a facial. Like what Markle gushed about the aesthetician, Joss has A-lister clients, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Gisele Bundchen, Scarlett Johansson, and Hilary Swank.
Experts Weigh In
Although the Duchess of Sussex and other celebrities already vouched for its effectiveness are facial exercises really worth the hype? First thing’s first, let’s learn what exactly they are. These are described as a non-surgical treatment that is anti-aging.
There are a handful of exercises but all of them aim to lift skin, reduce fine lines, or sculpt the face only with the use of your fingers. These aim to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin on your face by working on the over 40 muscles found on your face. After the exercise, your face should feel softer, smoother, and tighter.
All these sound promising – just imagine an instant botox without having to go under the knife. But do facial exercises really work? Nigma Talib, a naturopathic doctor, explained to The Independent that these are beneficial but not as good as when partnered with the right skincare products.
The expert further pointed out that it should be done with science in hand in the form of serums and crèmes. Debbit Thomas, an award-winning facialist, said she doesn’t really recommend it to her patients although she understands that it has some advantages.
Thomas underlined the importance of facial exercises and said these actually are essential to increase circulation and for better absorption of the skin of the products to be used. Plus, it gives off a de-stressing feeling, pretty much like how a good massage on the body feels after. However, she advises her clients to invest in the right products, create a suitable regimen, and in-clinic treatments.
The final verdict is that the experts find facial exercises beneficial given that they are done regularly and are partnered with good quality skincare products. So if you take Markle’s word for it, you can always massage your face whenever you have free time.
